Parliamentary Procedure

1. General Overview

These two sites provide general overviews to parliamentary procedure. The first, for the Associated Student Body Senate at Tulane, includes an introduction, a glossary, situations and concepts, categories and descriptions of motions, and order of precedence of motions. The second, slightly longer, is from the Student Activities Office at Cal State Chico. It includes an introduction, general principles, a glossary, a standard agenda, how a meeting happens, how to handle a motion, categories and descriptions of motions, order of precedence of motions, tips, how committees operate, and how to run elections.

2. Motions

The first two sites, from a parliamentarian in private practice, and the Western Kentucky University Faculty Senate, respectively, contain two different kinds of tables of motions. The third, from the same parliamentarian, describes how to handle a motion.
