Site Hosting

IR&C hosts departmental Web sites in the UCOP Data Center, which provides a secure and environmentally controlled facility that meets production standards. Several options are available to customers:

• IR&C provides the necessary hardware and technical infrastructure.
• The customer's own hardware is housed in the Data Center which provides the infrastructure, and is maintained by the customer or by IR&C personnel (per agreement).
• Sites are hosted inside our .edu domain (e.g., http://www.ucop.edu/irc or http://uarp.ucop.edu) or another domain acquired by the customer (e.g., http://www.cdlib.org).

Various approaches to Web hosting have been implemented by our customers which include the California Health Benefits Review Program, the California Digital Library, the School and University Partnerships K-12 site, and the Teacher Education & Professional Development site.
