Historically, several IR&C help desks have shared the duties of
supporting telephone, networking, e-mail, and data center services
at UCOP and systemwide. Our goal, though, is to create a unified help
desk that will serve as the single point of contact for customers
of all IR&C services.
Towards this goal, IR&C has reorganized Desktop Computing Services
(DCS), the unit that has supported approximately 300 desktops at UCOP.
Effective immediately, DCS has been renamed the Technology Service
Desk (TSD), which provides direct customer support in the following
areas:
If your first point of contact for desktop support is your departmental
PC Coordinator, please continue to follow that process. If you normally
call IR&C to request or to report problems with the services listed
above, please now contact the Technology Service Desk at 987-0457
or TechDesk@ucop.edu. (Please note that pchelp@ucop.edu is no longer
a functional address. For a short time, we will route e-mail from
pchelp to TechDesk.)
