Service Description
Voice Services manages the UC videoconference network, which connects all ten UC campuses; the Washington DC office; the Los Alamos, Lawrence Berkeley, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories; the California State University system; and the California Community Colleges system. The videoconference network is used for myriad purposes, including administrative meetings, interviews, and distance education.
Voice Services sets up all videoconference connections for UCOP, resolves any technical problems with communications links or equipment and is responsible for ensuring successful conferences among the campuses. The UC videoconference network is composed of T1, ATM, and Sonet technologies.
