Beginning July 1, 2004, IR&C will begin support for encrypted TN3270 connectivity to the UCOP MVS mainframe applications. For a period, both unsecure and secure connections will be accepted. After August 1, 2004, only SSL-encrypted connectivity will be allowed for connections to uccmvsb.ucop.edu, port 992.
There are a number of options for connecting to UCOP's mainframe with a secure client. Below are descriptions and links to facilities that UCOP recommends for terminal emulation. Users are welcome, however, to use any terminal emulation software that supports SSL encryption.
