The UCOP Production Control team runs numerous campus and corporate application systems. Production Control is staffed 5 x 24 (Monday 6:00 a.m. - Saturday 6:00 a.m.). Production Control is responsible for running the following applications, among others:
UC Retirement System
UC Treasurer's Investment System
Payroll for the Davis, Irvine, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Cruz, and Santa Barbara campuses, Hastings College of the Law, and the Associated Students of UCLA
Over 35 corporate systems including personnel, financial, and student application systems
Functions
Receive data from campuses and other outside sources
Setup, Schedule, submit, and monitor batch application jobs in the z/OS and Unix environments
Ensure that jobs run successfully and take corrective measures for any abnormal batch application issues
Automating batch applications
Make sure that reports (tapes, data files, etc.) reach their final destination(s), which may be campuses, outside vendors, or user groups within UCOP
Develop and implement tools for automating and streamlining production activities
