Service Description
IR&C provides support for UCOP-owned smartphones for business use. Two smartphones are supported: the current iPhone or Blackberry models.

• IR&C recommends the Blackberry because it provides better integration with the UCOP e-mail environment.
• Only UCOP-owned smartphones may obtain UCOP e-mail.
• All UCOP-owned smartphones are password protected and encrypted.

How to Request Service

• To order a smartphone, complete and submit the Smartphone Service form. Review information about carriers and rates to complete the form.
• To request transfer of liability, local port, account/feature changes, or accessories orders, complete and submit the Other Smartphone Services form.

Applicable Policies
Department managers should review Guidelines for the Purchase and Use of Cellular Phones and Other Portable Electronic Resources, G-46, and ensure that employees complete and sign the G-46 usage agreement, which the department retains for its records.
