IR&C coordinates and manages a variety of ongoing and ad hoc systemwide IT initiatives and activities to improve efficiency in IT operations, provide consistency in the University’s response to public-facing issues, and provide consistent IT policy direction and guidance. The Universitywide IT Leadership Council, which is composed of campus chief information officers or IT executives, helps shape priorities for technology planning, implementation, and policy initiatives.
IR&C Immediate Office personnel are responsible for coordinating the following systemwide activities, and may be contacted directly for more information.
Develop and implement systemwide or multicampus technology initiatives ()
Lead and coordinate systemwide IT planning activities, such as the work of the IT Guidance Committee led by Provost Hume ()
Develop and interpret systemwide IT policies ()
Coordinate analysis of and University response on IT legislative and governmental relations issues ()
Coordinate for The Regents of campus Federal Communications Commission issues, including applications for license renewals and leases of ITFS licenses ()
Coordination of IT Leadership Council meetings and initiatives ()
Participate on the executive board of CENIC (Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California) ()
