As a result of the change in methodology effective with the 1998 survey, NSF requested that UC resubmit its 1997 survey using the new methodology. The links below are to the excel spreadsheets submitted to NSF with revised 1997 amounts for Item 1: Expenditures by Source of Funds and Item 2: Expenditures by Field of Science and Engineering. The spreadsheets show both the pre-revision values as well as the revised values.
The revised reports were submitted to NSF in January, 2000.

When preparing the 1999 survey, we became aware of an error in the program that produces the reports out of the Corporate Financial System. That error resulted in an inaccurate distribution of indirect costs. The grandtotal for the year was not affected by this change. Changes are illustrated in Item 1: Expenditures by Source of Funds and in the Federal Column of Item 2: Expenditures by Field of Science and Engineering. The spreadsheets show both the pre-revision values as well as the revised values.
The revised reports were submitted to NSF in January, 2000.
