2000 Reports
Report DescriptionsEffective FY 1999-2000, NSF code reports will be published electronically. Paper reports will no longer be distributed. Campuses are required to review and recommend coding changes based on the guidelines found here.
The CAFP edit reports CAFNSF01-1, 01-2, 01-3 reports providing NSF coding information by NSF code, and by account, and research accounts with blank NSF coding. These reports are identical to those distributed with the CAFP FNL00 edit.
Reports are prepared for each campus. Selection criteria are all research accounts for expenditure accounts. Comparisons are made to prior years NSF coding. Analysis is performed to validate NSF coding at a very detailed level, based on account title, the organizational unit an account belongs to, and the instructions from NSF.
Items which should not be included in the survey are highlighted in red. Items which should be recoded are highlighted in green. Items requiring research are highlighted blue.
Campuses are required to review coding in detail based on the instructions provided in the NSF coding guideline documentation found here.
Finally, the accounts requiring recoding are provided. The reports reflect detailed comments with the reasoning for the recoding included. Campuses are required to review the changes and make modifications to the current year chart of accounts to ensure accurate coding for the following cycle.
