2003 Comments L1415 -- New funding from DOT
2002 Comments Line 1414: The increase was primarily due to growth in Integrated Nano-Systems Research.

Line 1416: The growth in Other Engineering was due to increased Institutional support.

Lines 1430 & 1434: A major new grant from the William Keck Foundation resulted in increased Environmental Science research in FY 2002.

Line 1480: One-time expenditures in Other Sciences in FY 2001 resulted in an apparent decrease in FY 2002.
2001 Comments NSF code 018 Bioeng/Biomed Engin reflects an increase due to adjustment of grant budget and project periods to distribute awards more evenly, continuation of
some awards cycle each year on Sept. 1
The other increases were mainly due to continuation of basic research awards for the next fiscal year.
