L1432 -- Large increase in federal
funding from NSF to earth sciences.
L1441 -- Decrease in NSF
funding
L1442 -- Large funding increase to school of Info
Management in Computer Sciences.
|
Line 1413: decrease in federal funding
primarily due to winding-down of major contract funded by Department
of Transportation.
Line 1460: Federal funding for psychology
research saw general increases over the past year. The Institute of
Personality and Social Research saw particular increases in funding
from several NIH Institutes.
Lines 1742 and 1474: The
decreases in Line 1742 and increases in Line 1474 are to some degree
offsetting, because there were several awards formerly designated as
Political Science which were recategorized as Other Social
Science.
Line 1480: The Federal increase is primarily due to
three new awards from NSF to the Lawrence Hall of Science; the
overall increase is primarily due to increased funding from
institutional sources. |
NSF CODE 017, 024, 021,052, 053
represent fluctuations due to reclassifications and corrections of
expenditures to the correct codes. Inplementation of a new
accounting system caused large amounts of code corrections. This is
a continuing problem. NSF CODE 54 reflected a credit of 9 for
line 1 and a credit of 8 but had to enter 0, hence the total didn't
match the total from Item 1. NSF CODE 017 reflected a credit of
334,000 but was entered at 72 to be allowed to submit
survey.
NSF CODE 018 reflected line 1 was only 22 but changed
to 53 to comply with rules. Less amount was due to code
changes. NSF CODE 018 is due to the reclassification problem, it
was originally 22 but changed to 53 just to submit the survey.
