Description:

 

The purpose of job PINCAR1 is to consolidate data files transmitted via FTP from campus locations. It sends files to vsftp for pickup by vendors and one to Unix via FTP for further processing. It also FTPs a file to the benefits server FUEGO.

 

 

Frequency:

Job PINNER1:  New Employee Reporting to the State

Description:

 

The purpose of job PINNER1 is to consolidate data files transmitted via FTP from campus locations and to generate a file which is encrypted and copied to CD-ROM shipped to the state along with a transmittal.

 

Frequency:

 

·         This job is run twice each month on the 2nd and 17th of the month, or the next working day after those dates if they fall on a weekend or holiday.

Job PINUM1: Monthly Union Rosters, Part 1

 

Description:

 

This is the first step in the monthly union roster process.  The purpose of job PINUM1 is to consolidate union data files transmitted via FTP from campus locations. The resulting file is picked up by Unix (bert) via FTP. (After Unix processing is complete, job PINUM2 completes the monthly processing).

 

 

Frequency:

 

·         This job is run monthly on the Tuesday after the first Monday of the month. It can run any time after all locations have transmitted their files, but should be completed by 4:00 p.m.

·         If Tuesday is a holiday, the job should run on the next working day.

·         Early in December, check with Cheryl Cline as to the job schedule over the holidays.  The practice has been to not run this job when the campuses are closed.

Description:

 

This is the second MVS step in the monthly union roster process. After the first MVS job, PINUM1, completes, a file is transmitted to Unix for processing there. When that job has completed, MVS job PINUM2 runs to create files for each union which they retrieve via FTP and also creates files for a third-party mailing house which are also retrieved via FTP.

-         $CY        2-digit year - use the current year except for the run in January ($1MM=DEC), in which case use the prior year. (See Table Below)

-          Upon completion of the Zeke PINQUI job, verify successful completion.  Once verified send an email to the Helpdesk to arrange for them to have the file transmitted to the EDD.

 

The email should indicate the name of the file created in the PINQUI job that needs to be transmitted.  Operations will fax the confirmation number and a notification that the file has been transmitted to the UCOP contact Marcia Johnson.
