Project Methodology

Review of Related Studies and Analysis Previously Conducted By The University

Every effort will be made to incorporate relevant data from completed studies into the assessment. Representatives from the Office of the President and KPMG Consulting will use these studies as a base for identifying additional requirements. Project participants will be informed that these studies have been reviewed and that redundant input will be kept to a minimum.

Conduct a Series of Focused Workshops

Four facilitated one day workshops will be conducted to cover the following areas:

Workshop participants will include representatives from the Office of the President, selected Campuses, and selected Medical Centers. To prepare for each workshop, participants will be advised to think about HR transactions and reporting requirements that are unique to their job and or the University. Participants will be encouraged to bring forms, reports, and screen shots which are representative of their unique requirements.

Workshops will be conducted by trained KPMG facilitators. Data gathered at workshops will be detailed in a workshop document. The document will be circulated to all participants for review and comments. A final deliverable will be prepared which reflects participant comments. As final deliverables are completed, they will be circulated to selected Office of the President, Campus, and Medical Center management.

Conduct A Web Based Survey

At the completion of the workshops noted above, requirements will be compiled in the form of a web based survey. The purpose of the survey will be to validate and prioritize requirements using a large number of Campus and Medical Center participants. Selected Participants will be issued log-on id's, passwords, and a web address where the survey resides. At the web site, participants will review each requirement and prioritize it based on need (mandatory, nice to have, not required etc.) In addition, the survey will collect data on existing systems and solicit recommendations for improvement. At the end of the survey period, results will be compiled and incorporated into the final project deliverable.
