Managed Desktop Initiative

The Managed Desktop Initiative (MDI) is an ambitious project undertaken by Information Resources and Communications (IR&C) to create a more secure and standardized desktop computing environment for UCOP. The MDI has two main goals:
—  To achieve a secure and robust Windows                   personal computing environment for UCOP
—  To offer employees new productivity features,          such as mobile access to e-mail

The MDI is led by project manager Gilbert Loo with input and assistance from the UCOP departmental PC coordinators and the MDI Work Group.
