Web Accessibility at the University of California
The University of California is committed to providing an electronic environment that is accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities.
The Internet provides everyone quick and easy access to information, and it offers people with disabilities a way to obtain information without having to rely on others for assistance. Yet navigating Web sites can be difficult — sometimes impossible — for people with disabilities. (The WebAIM group provides more information about the challenges people with disabilities can face when using the Internet.)
This Web site has been created to help University of California Web developers understand how to make their sites accessible, and to point them to useful tools and resources. The University of California recommends that its Web developers follow the Section 508 technical standards for Web-based intranet and internet information applications. See Recommended Standards for more details.
