Color analyzer tools help developers determine if color schemes provide an appropriate level of contrast.
Juicy Studio Color Contrast Analyzer (free): This is a Web page where you can enter hexadecimal color codes for your foreground and background colors and see if there is enough contrast between the two. It will show you a representation of the color combination, so you can also determine if they look good together. This tool is best for the planning stages of a Web site, when color pairings are still being determined.
Paciello Group Contrast Analyzer (free): This standalone software application analyzes color contrast. You can enter hexadecimal color codes or use its magnification pane and eyedropper tool to select foreground and background colors. It's good for analyzing existing Web pages and sites.
