Notes:

  • This list of proposed University Directory data elements supplements those implemented in phase I
  • This list of proposed supplemental data elements includes fields that may have multiple occurences
  • This list of proposed supplemental data elements may require multiple new daily campus interfaces
  • A value of "y/n" for the ESS Upd? column indicates that some data values (dependent upon corresponding Type value) would be updatable by an Employee Self Service (ESS) while other wouldn't
  • The following initial Address Type values are being proposed:
  • Payroll IVR Permanent Address whose source is the Payroll IVR database/daily interface
  • Campus Mailing Address whose source may vary by campus, but might be, for example, a local, campus-specific "directory" system; data would then be passed to the University Directory via a new daily interface generated by the campuses; though the local data sources may vary, the new campus daily interface would follow a uniform interface format
  • The Address data element itself will be a single 110 character field whose "internal" format will vary dependent upon its corresponding Address Type; specific portions within the address, e.g., city, can either be segmented based on column position, e.g., city is in columns 61 - 90 of the 110 character field, or by delimiter character; further note that longer-term, this field could house e-mail addresses as well
  • The following initial Phone Number Type values are being proposed:
  • Work Phone Number whose source may vary by campus, but might be, for example, a local, campus-specific "directory" system; data would then be passed to the University Directory via a new daily interface generated by the campuses; though the local data sources may vary, the new campus daily interface would follow a uniform interface format
  • Work Fax Number whose source may vary by campus, but might be, for example, a local, campus-specific "directory" system; data would then be passed to the University Directory via a new daily interface generated by the campuses; though the local data sources may vary, the new campus daily interface would follow a uniform interface format
  • Work Pager Number whose source may vary by campus, but might be, for example, a local, campus-specific "directory" system; data would then be passed to the University Directory via a new daily interface generated by the campuses; though the local data sources may vary, the new campus daily interface would follow a uniform interface format
  • Work Cell Phone Number whose source may vary by campus, but might be, for example, a local, campus-specific "directory" system; data would then be passed to the University Directory via a new daily interface generated by the campuses; though the local data sources may vary, the new campus daily interface would follow a uniform interface format
  • The Appointment Academic data element values are:
  • Y - corresponding appointment is an academic position
  • N - corresponding appointment is not an academic position
  • The Student Type data element values are:
  • U - Undergraduate
  • M - Master's Candidate
  • D - Doctoral Candidate
