Ergonomics is the applied science of designing equipment to maximize the operator's productivity by decreasing fatigue and discomfort and preventing injury. The UC campuses and the Office of the President offer ergonomics programs that provide assistance with preventing injury and improving situations that are causing discomfort or harm.
