Campuses have converted a number of faculty appointment and/or distribution records to pay a portion of their general-funded salary from Contracts and Grants or Federal funds.  The portion of this salary which has been converted to C&G or Federal funds has a PPS DOS code of "FEP".  More information on how this data is reflected in CPS will be provided soon.

You can find information on how the standard salary reduction/furlough, which began in September 2009, is reflected in CPS data here. 

As of the end of  October, very few employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement had had their salaries reduced.  About 42,000 employees systemwide have had their salaries reduced under this program so far..

The Current FY table includes Leave DOS codes (CPS DOS code "LV") in the distribution segment.  These records represent either leave hours (i.e., vacation, sick, comp time, etc.) accrued or leave hours taken.  They should NOT be included in most queries - only those for which you want to specifically exclude leave hours that were paid or to specifically include them.  Find out more about leave records here:

Because leave usage is frequently processed after the fact, the leave transactions will not usually arrive on the distribution file for the month in which they were taken or accrued.  You will need to check the Fiscal Year table after the following month's updates in order to get leave data for a given month.

Please note that San Diego does not use this mechanism for calculating leave accrual and usage, so they have few distribution records with DOS code "LV".

UCLA submitted incorrect Location 2 codes for UCOP employees for the September 2000 cycle. UCOP employees have a Location 2 code of "1" for this cycle only.
