3.0 Error Correction Procedures
Because it is critical that data, and especially attribute values, be correct and valid when sent to the SLC, and because transmittal of invalid data will be both time and resource consuming for the campuses and the Office of the President (UCOP), it is important that each campus establish and follow adequate procedures for establishing and maintaining the attributes and the Budget Tables which are used in editing input data. Any differences from those specified in Section 5.2.2 in assigning sub-campus codes or SAU codes at the campus be coordinated with UCOP before these changes are made. This should be done in accordance with procedures established for the budget system, by contacting the IR&C Data Administration unit at . Changes to other tables are initiated only by UCOP.
It is important that local procedures be established for preparing, verifying
and sending the file to UCOP according to the published annual schedules.
Incorrect data will require re-preparation and re-transmittal of files.
When the SLC receives the local transmittal file, it reads it and edits it for acceptability. All attributes and other data elements whose values must conform to UCOP criteria are checked as well as any other items for which standards have been specified. Refer to Section 5.2 for a discussion of edit requirements. If the transmittal file is incorrect in any way it will be returned to the campus with an indication of errors found. After resolving the problems, the campus will have to rerun the interface jobstream and resend the corrected version of the file to the Office of the President.
