Secure FTP Conversion Plan and Schedule

UC is undergoing a conversion from FTP to SSH. A list of files to be converted and proposed batching is provided below. Implementation will be phased, with the priorities being:

1. Files generated by Payroll (Batches 1 and 2)
2. Student financial data files (Batch 3)
3. Financial system files (Batch 4)
4. Other Administrative Files (Batch 5)
5. Contract and Grant (CGX) Reports (Batch 6).

For files going to UCOP, batches will have deadlines, but UCOP will accept files early. For files from UCOP, UCOP will provide a cutover window for each such that the file would be available on both the MVS (existing) and LINUX (new) servers for a specified overlap period.

The proposed overall schedule is as follows:

• Setup and Testing - April 2, 2004
• Batch 1 - May 31, 2004
• Batch 2 - June 21, 2004
• Batch 3 - July 12, 2004
• Batch 4 - August 2, 2004
• Batch 5 - August 23, 2004
• Batch 6 - September 13, 2004

A detailed batch schedule will be maintained during the conversion project.
