AIX FTP Guidelines for ftp.ucop.edu Send or retrieve files from the University of California Office of the President production group using TCP/IP FTP (File Transfer Protocol) as follows: - From a mainframe or DOS client, issue the following command: quote type a (if your sending/receiving machine is ASCII) or type e (if your sending/receiving machine is EBCDIC) or type i (if your sending/receiving machine is EBCDIC and the file contains non-display data, e.g., COMP-3); - From a Windows FTP client select "ASCII" as the transfer type. GET <UCOP filename> <your filename> or PUT <UCOP filename> <your filename> or equivalent COPY command in a Windows FTP client. The naming of 'your filename' is left to each location's discretion. However, the UCOP filename will be in our "normal" MVS format, which means that there will be a period between each node and be in CAPS (the ftp.ucop.edu server is case-sensitive). The 'UCOP filename' will be specified in the specifications for each campus transmission. Production Control:
