The Executive Director for Application and Technology Support Services (ATSS) oversees all IR&C technology operations in support of UCOP and systemwide activities, providing both technical infrastructure and application system development and maintenance services.
The ATSS unit provides technology support services to the UCOP Oakland location, including e-mail and calendar services; voice, network, and remote access services; helpdesk support; backup services; videoconferencing capabilities; Data Center services, including server co-location; and Web application development and Web publishing services.
The unit provides a number of systemwide services, including critical employee self-service and benefits applications, the undergraduate admissions application, the payroll system, over thirty corporate systems that feed financial and other corporate data from the campuses to UCOP; a corporate data warehouse, and a number of Web-based systems supporting activities of systemwide academic and business departments. The unit runs the payroll system at most campuses, as well as the effort reporting system for certifying personnel time spent on federally sponsored projects.
Unit managers play lead roles in the coordination of important systemwide technology planning initiatives, such as disaster recovery, human resources information systems, and joint data center operations.
