Fall 2004 California Community College Transfer Admissions
University of California campuses have admitted 15,369 transfer students from the California Community Colleges for Fall 2004, 4.8 percent more than in 2003. It is the sixth consecutive year with universitywide growth in the number of transfer students.
California residents accounted for 14,871 of the transfers, 10.8 percent more than in 2003.
All major racial and ethnic groups registered systemwide increases. Underrepresented students (African Americans, American Indians, and Chicano/Latinos) increased slightly as a proportion of the total admitted transfer class, from 18.5 percent in 2002 to 18.6 percent in 2004. However, underrepresented students decreased slightly as a proportion of California resident transfers, from 20.4 percent in 2003 to 19.5 percent in 2004.
