Human Resources
Staff Compensation Programs oversees systemwide staff compensation policy and program design, tools and systems, working closely with compensation and human resource professionals at the ten campuses and five medical centers. We facilitate collection and analysis of internal and external market data for strategic decision support and planning. We ensure that compensation policies and programs comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. We also work closely with talent management professionals across the campuses and medical centers to ensure alignment of the university's compensation programs and strategies with recruiting, career development and broader HR strategies.
Executive Compensation Programs oversees systemwide executive compensation policy and program design, tools and systems, collaborating with the campuses, medical centers and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. We oversee the creation and maintenance of the executive compensation structures (Market Reference Zones) and all incentive and recognition programs and related policies, systemwide.
Compensation Programs oversees the design and implementation of the systemwide Career Tracks Project to ensure a common architecture across the campuses and medical centers. This large, complex project will ensure a common and consistent approach to defining job standards, so that policy covered, non-represented employees have well defined career options anywhere in the UC system. We work closely with campus and medical center compensation professionals and other staff, ensuring that programs are consistent with university policies and practices, laws and regulations.
