Office of General Counsel
Marty Simpson joined the Office of the General Counsel in 1989. Prior to joining the office, Mr. Simpson was Deputy Laboratory Counsel for Patents with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Prior to Livermore, Mr. Simpson was a Patent Attorney with the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. and Livermore.
Mr. Simpson leads the intellectual property group and his primary area of practice covers technology transfer with a focus on patents. Mr. Simpson is a graduate of Rhodes College (B.S. 1970, Phi Beta Kappa) and the University of Texas at Austin School of Law (J.D. 1975).
