Mary E. MacDonald

Senior Counsel

Mary MacDonald has served as a University Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel since 1981. Her primary areas of practice are copyright, trademark, use of University of California's name and unofficial seal, procurement competitive bidding and bid protests, procurement of goods and services, computer law, libraries and special collections, Continuing Education of the Bar, University of California Press, research contracts and grants, landlord-tenant, and unlawful detainers.

Prior to joining the office, Ms. MacDonald was a field attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in the San Francisco and Oakland offices. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (B.A. 1969) and the University of San Francisco School of Law (J.D. 1976).
