Hotel Accommodations and Directions for the Southern Forum on Friday April 24, 2009
The hotel for the Forum is the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008, 760-827-2401. On the day of the Forum shuttle buses will provide scheduled service to and from the CSU San Marcos campus, leaving the Sheraton Hotel for the campus at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. and leaving the campus at 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. to return to the hotel. A block of rooms has been reserved for $184 plus tax on the nights of April 24 and 25. To obtain the Forum's negotiated rate, call the hotel and specify that you are with the "Cal State University Forum for Diversity in Graduate Education." Cal Predoc Reception
On Friday night, April 24, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., the Forum will host a reception for all registered recruiters and for the Sally Casanova California Pre-Doctoral Scholars in attendance. The reception will be held in the Sheraton Hotel. Come visit with old friends, meet new colleagues, and be introduced to Sally Casanova California Pre-Doctoral Scholars.

From East: Take US Highway 78 West to Interstate 5 South. Take the Cannon Road Exit. Proceed east on Cannon Road about 3/4 mile to Grand Pacific Drive and continue to the hotel
From North: Take Interstate 5 South to the Cannon Road Exit. Proceed east on Cannon Road about 3/4 mile to Grand Pacific Drive. Turn right onto Grand Pacific Drive and continue to the hotel.
From West: Travel east on Cannon Road about 3/4 mile to Grand Pacific Drive. Proceed to the hotel.
From South: Take Interstate 5 North to the Cannon Road Exit. Proceed east on Cannon Road about 3/4 mile to Grand Pacific Drive. Turn right onto Grand Pacific Drive and continue to the hotel
From San Diego International Airport (SAN): From the airport, Start out going East toward N Harbor Drive. Turn left onto N Harbor Drive. Turn left onto W Laurel Street. Turn left onto India Street. Merge onto I-5 N via the ramp on the left. Take the Palomar Airport Road exit, Exit 47. Turn right onto Palomar Airport Road/CR-S12 E. Turn left onto The Crossing Drive. From Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa:
Start out going northwest on Grand Pacific Drive toward Cannon Road. Turn right onto Cannon Road. Turn right onto El Camino Real/ CR-S11 S. Turn left onto Palamor Airport Road/ CR-S12 E. Continue to follow CR-S12 E. Merge onto CA-78 E toward Escondido. Take the Twin Oaks Valley Road Exit, Exit 13. Turn right onto S. Twin Oaks Valley Road. Make a U-turn onto S. Twin Oaks Valley Road. Proceed to 333 S Twin Oaks Valley Road, San Marcos, CA 92078.
From Interstate 5:
From Interstate 5, merge onto eastbound Highway 78. Drive approximately 14 miles on eastbound Highway 78, then exit at Twin Oaks Valley Road. Turn right to go south on Twin Oaks Valley Road. After approximately .5 mile, turn left onto Craven Drive. You have now arrived at CSU San Marcos.
From Interstate 15:
From Interstate 15, merge onto westbound Highway 78. Drive approximately 4.5 miles on westbound Highway 78, then exit at Twin Oaks Valley Road. Turn left to go south on Twin Oaks Valley Road. After approximately .5 mile, turn left onto Craven Drive. You have now arrived at CSU San Marcos.

Parking information for the Forum on Saturday, April 25 is below: You should enter the CSU San Marcos campus from S. Twin Oaks Valley Road, turn left onto Craven Road. Proceed up Craven Road until you see Parking Lot D on your right.
Parking for the day will be $5.00.
