The purpose of the University of California student housing program is to enhance educational development, recruitment, and retention of students by providing self-sustaining facilities and activities in support of academic programs. All student housing facilities managed by the University of California, including in particular those facilities declared to be part of the University of California Housing System (UCHS), are operated in accordance with provisions of any indentures or other loan documents governing external financing for such facilites.
