Banking Services

• Bank of America:
  • Bank of America (BofA) is the University of California's primary depository bank.
  • Primary bank for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
  • Wholesale Lockbox services – Lockboxes have been established for use by four campuses and the Office of the President.
  • Outbound Domestic / Foreign Currency wires and drafts.
  • Other services of note: Account Reconcilement, Information Reporting, ACH Debit Blocks and Filters, Post No Check Blocks

• Wells Fargo Bank:
  • Wells Fargo Bank (WFB) is the University of California's primary check disbursement bank for the Campuses and the Office of the President.
  • Primary bank for Los Alamos National Laboratory.
  • All major disbursement accounts utilize Controlled Disbursement and Positive Pay services.
  • Other services of note: Account Reconcilement, Information Reporting, ACH Debit Blocks and Filters.

• Union Bank of California:
  • Union Bank of California (UBOC) is the University of California's main concentration bank.
  • Primary bank for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
  • Lockbox services – Lockboxes have been established for use by three campuses.
  • Other services of note: Account Reconciliation, Information Reporting, and Safekeeping fees.

• Mellon Bank:
  • Mellon Bank is the University of California's primary electronic disbursement bank.
  • Tax Payments
  • Other services of note: Account Reconcilement, Information Reporting, ACH Debit Blocks and Filters, Post No Checks Block.

• Chase Merchant Services:
  • Chase is the primary credit card acquirer for UC merchants.
  • Credit card payments are received from the sale of goods and services offered by the campuses, and originated through "point-of-sale" terminals, Internet, or batch input processes.

• US Bank:
  • US Bank is the University's primary Procurement Card service provider. These are no-fee credit cards used for procurement of goods and services outside of purchase order/invoice processes.
  Primary bank used by the University for its Corporate Travel and Entertainment (T&E) Card. This includes use of US Bank's Central Travel System (CTS). T&E cards are paid by the employee; CTS cards are paid by the University.

  There are several Travel Card relationships that were established prior to our system-wide initiative with US Bank. These are as follows:

  • UCLA: GE Capital
  • UCSD: Citibank Diners Club
  • UCSF: American Express Corporate Card
• PNC Bank:
  • PNC Bank is the University's primary Electronic Lockbox processor of medical receipts.  UCI has successfully implemented; other medical centers are exploring these services, including UCSF, UCLA, and UCSD.

• Bank One:
  • UCLA currently uses Bank One for its Procurement Card services but will be using US Bank by the end of the 2004 calendar year.

• Loomis Fargo:
  • Primary provider of armored courier services for various UC sites. Armored Transport and Dunbar Armored Courier are used by some sites, but on a much smaller scale.
