As part of the reorganization of UC Office of the President, the UC Project Management Institute no longer exists for the campuses. The Director and Assistant Director positions are no longer funded in this coming year’s budget. Although there will be no trainings or newsletters produced by the Director and the Coordinator, the historical information will remain on-line for the time being. We encourage the campuses to make use of a mentoring system with creating partners of experienced staff with newer staff. This is the best way to pass on UC history and the context of the project manager’s responsibilities. We also encourage campuses to pay attention to new laws and policies that affect how we practice the design and construction business and reduce risk.
