VOLUME 5, PART I

CHAPTER 2

BIDDING DOCUMENTS

INTRODUCTION

The bidding documents are prepared by the design professional and the Facility during a project's construction documents phase and are assembled by the Facility.

2.1 BIDDING DOCUMENT TYPES

The University uses three types of construction documents: the Long Form, the Short Form, and the Brief Form (FM4[II]). The construction bidding documents are part of the construction documents. All construction document models contained in Facilities Manual, Volume 4, have been approved for legal form by the Office of the General Counsel. These documents are currently not available online.

2.2 BIDDING DOCUMENT REVIEW

Facilities are responsible for reviewing their own bidding documents, regardless of the estimated construction cost. However, proposed changes to the Instructions to Bidders, and the General Conditions must be reviewed by the Office of the President and the Office of the General Counsel. Detailed review procedures are given in FM4[I].
