Welcome to the University of California's Analytical Writing Placement Exam data home page. The data provided here are intended to respond to questions about the performance of incoming freshmen on the Entry Level Writing Requirement — the standard of reading and writing competence necessary for success in the University's introductory courses. The Universitywide Analytical Writing Placement Examination and the standards for scoring students' responses are developed by faculty representatives of the University's general campuses.
