Katie Unruh is a founding staff member of UC Merced. She began her employment in November 1999 as the Executive Assistant to Founding Chancellor, Dr. Carol Tomlinson-Keasey. She spent eight years in the Office of the Chancellor, also serving as the Management Services Officer. She has had the pleasure of working in the Division of Administration for the last five years, first as the Management Services Officer, then as the Associate Director for Administration since September 2009.
Having been with UC Merced since its beginnings, she has seen the campus grow from its early years with 20 staff in a leased office suite to a young campus with almost 1,100 staff and faculty and over 5,400 students projected for fall 2012. Throughout the years, Katie has participated in numerous special projects and the planning of many campus events.
Katie has been a member of UC Merced's staff assembly since its inception. As Junior Delegate to CUCSA for UC Merced, she is looking forward to learning about system wide staff issues and initiatives.
