Dan Sampson,
Assistant Vice President
Dan Sampson is Assistant Vice President, Financial Services & Controls, for the University of California at the Office of the President. In this capacity, Dan works with a system-wide group of Controllers at each UC campus and medical center to provide financial management oversight and to strengthen business practices and systems of internal control. In addition, Dan coordinates internal control practices for centralized University operations that function within the Office of the President. Dan is also responsible for all banking and related financial services utilized throughout the UC system, as well as the University travel program, mortgage loan group and UCOP administrative shared services. Dan joined the University of California in 1997 after ten years of service as a Vice President and Senior Manager in audit and controllership capacities in the financial services industry. Dan has earned professional certification as a CIA and received his MBA degree in finance and accounting magna cum laude from the University of the Pacific. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for collegiate graduate schools of business and Phi Kappa Phi national honor society.
