About Us
The Campus Life unit has responsibility for the systemwide aspects of those student services, programs and policies that contribute to the student experience on campus, facilitate student involvement and learning, support health and wellness (both physical and mental), and are directly linked to student retention and success.
The unit has primary responsibility for revising, maintaining and interpreting the University of California Policies Applying to Campus Activities, Organizations and Students. In addition, the unit performs ongoing functions of legislative analysis (both state and federal), investigates and responds to constituent inquiries to OP (the UC Office of the President) as well as to The Regents, governor, and state Legislature (if referred to the President for response) relating to the Campus Life areas.
In addition to direct service to the campuses, the unit also serves as the liaison between the President's Office and the UCSA (the UC systemwide student government), the Council on Student Fees and other systemwide student groups, including managing the appointment process for student representatives to committees of the systemwide Academic Senate, as well as all other systemwide committees.
