[August 24, 2000]

Account statements for the period January 1, 2000, through June 30, 2000, are being mailed over the week to anyone with a balance in the University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP), the Defined Contribution Plan, and/or the Tax-Deferred 403(b) Plan. About 320,000 statements are being mailed.

The statements show balances and account activity in the Defined Contribution Plan Pretax and After-Tax Accounts and in the Tax-Deferred 403(b) Plan. They also show UCRP service credit and balances.

Has your address changed? People know that when they move they need to tell the Post Office right away so their mail will be forwarded to their new address. But not everybody remembers to tell the University. If your address has recently changed and you have not yet informed the University, here's what you should do:

Current employees: Select "UC For Yourself" on the right-hand side of our home page. (You will need to enter your Social Security number and your UC PIN. If you have lost your PIN, you may get one instantly.)

Retired and former employees: Complete the UC Benefits Address Change Notice (UBEN 131) and submit it to UC Human Resources and Benefits.

Want more current account information? The semi-annual statement shows account information through the end of June 30 2000. For plan activity since July 1, 2000, call our interactive phone line, bencom.fone, and request a Statement on Demand. Here's how:

  1. Call 1-800-888-8267. When you hear the recorded voice, press 1.
  2. When you hear the voice say "Entry Menu," press 1 for "Personal Accounts and Transactions."
  3. When prompted, enter your Social Security number and your UC PIN. (If you have lost your PIN, you may get a new one instantly by selecting "UC For Yourself" on our home page. Retired and former employees should stay on the line to speak with a UC Customer Service Center representative.)
  4. When you hear the voice say "Main Menu," press 122.

You can have your Statement on Demand faxed or mailed to you. (Please be aware that we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of a faxed statement.)

If you want your current UCRS account balances without transaction activity, you can see them online. Click on the "UCRS Account Balances" icon on our home page.
