University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP)
In most cases, if you are hired to work at UC continuously for at least 50 percent time for one year or longer, you are automatically an active member of the UC Retirement Plan (UCRP). See the Retirement and Savings section of this website for information about UCRP.

Retirement Savings Program
Most employees who are not members of the UC Retirement Plan make mandatory contributions to the Defined Contribution Plan (DC Plan). Your first contribution automatically goes into the UC Savings Fund, but you can redirect future contributions and transfer your first contribution to other funds.

Faculty and staff may also make voluntary contributions to the 403(b) and 457(b) Plans.

Fidelity Retirement Services provides record keeping services for the DC Plan and for UC's other Retirement Savings Program plans. You will receive a new hire kit from Fidelity with information about the Retirement Savings Program. You can also learn about the Program on this website and on the Fidelity Retirement Services website.
