If you enrolled in either of UC's Flexible Spending Accounts (Health FSA or Dependent Care FSA) for 2008 or 2009, here are a few important reminders to help with your claims.

2008 participants
SHPS will continue to handle your claims for your 2008 HCRA and/or DepCare account(s). You may use funds in your 2008 account(s) to pay for any eligible expenses through March 15, 2009. SHPS must receive the required claim for your account(s) no later than June 15, 2009. Your SHPS HCRA benefits card cannot be used for any claims since it expired in December 2008, but you can use paper claim forms for reimbursements from your account funds. You have until June 15, 2009 for SHPS to receive any claims or other documents for your account. To ensure you don't forfeit any funds, file your paperwork early.

2009 participants
For the 2009 plan year, eligible claims incurred after January 1, 2009 must be submitted to CONEXIS, UC's new FSA administrator. If you enrolled in the Health FSA, CONEXIS issued a new spending account card in December along with a confirmation letter and instructions on how to access your account online. When you use this Benefits Card within the preferred network of pharmacies and grocery stores, your eligible purchases will be automatically approved. A list of preferred merchants is available online.
