UC Living Well is UC's systemwide wellness initiative for faculty and staff, based on a successful 2007 pilot program at Berkeley, Office of the President, UCLA and UCLA Medical Center. Along with links to varied wellness resources and information, the UC Living Well website gives information about the many UC local campus, medical center and laboratory wellness programs, activities and recreational sports facilities.

As part of the expanded UC Living Well program, UC is offering the StayWell Health Management benefits program. Staywell provides enhanced wellness and personal health management benefits to many faculty and staff and their families who are covered by the UC Blue Cross, CIGNA Choice Fund, Core, Health Net, and Western Health Advantage medical plans. StayWell is not available to Kaiser members who currently have access to Kaiser's fully integrated wellness resources. The leadership of several unions at UC - AFSCME 3299, CNA, CUE, SETC, UAW 2863, UC-AFT, and UPTE-CWA - have notified the University that they are choosing not to participate in the StayWell Health Management benefits program on behalf of their UC bargaining unit members.

The cornerstone of the program is a voluntary personal health assessment survey that gives immediate feedback about potential health risks. Employees and family members age 18 and older who complete the survey receive a $75 gift certificate redeemable at a variety of retailers. Details about program features and eligibility and frequently asked questions about the program are on the UC Living Well website.
