Statewide analysis

The number of UC-approved secondary Arts, Media and Entertainment courses increased statewide from 3990 to 4256, an increase of 6.2 percent compared to last year. Of the 1334 public comprehensive and alternative high schools in California, 977 or 73.2 percent have one or more UC-approved Arts, Media and Entertainment course. Presently, there are 11,198 Arts, Media and Entertainment courses offered statewide of which 38.0 percent meet the “a-g” subject requirements.

A-G subject requirements

In analyzing the “a-g” subject requirements, Arts, Media and Entertainment courses are approved in all areas except the history / social science (“a”), laboratory science (“d”) and language other than English (“e”) subject areas.
