Academic Planning Council

The Academic Planning Council (APC) is a joint Administration and Academic Council committee that raises questions, frames issues, and guides analyses concerning the university’s overall size, shape, and long-range academic direction. The APC serves in an advisory capacity to the Provost, who is its chair; the APC Vice Chair is the Chair of the Academic Council.

The APC considers broad issues such as long range enrollment, academic policies, and program review, including matters that arise in the Compendium: Universitywide Review Processes for Academic Programs, Academic Units and Research Units (pdf). Items addressed are of magnitude beyond single-campus resolution. In working on these issues, the APC may recommend convening a subcommittee, initiating a special study, or taking another approach to gather information and advice.
