Terms of Appointment

The annual award is for $40-50,000, depending upon the field and level of experience. The award includes stipend, health, vision and dental benefits, and up to $4,000 for research-related expenses. Each award is a for a twelve-month period, renewable for one year upon demonstration of academic productivity and participation in program events. Fellows in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Biological Sciences will receive a stipend of $38,500. Fellows in Mathematics, Engineering and Physical Sciences will receive an annual stipend ranging from $40,000-$44,000 depending on experience. The President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program may match stipend levels of competing offers to selected candidates.

President's Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to (1) take up residence at the campus of their postdoctoral appointment, (2) focus full-time on research and avoid other commitments such as teaching, (3) meet regularly with their faculty mentor, (4) attend the annual the Annual Fall Meeting and the Academic Spring Retreat.
