George Gilmore, UCSB

My name is George Gilmore. I was born in Blokosso, an African village in the heart of Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire. I speak English and French. After living overseas most of my life, I moved to Rochester, New York to study mechanical engineering at the University of Rochester.

I am currently a first-year graduate student in the MS/PhD Mechanical Engineering program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My area of specialization is Dynamic Systems, Controls, and Robotics. I am currently involved in a master’s project under the supervision of Professor Igor Mezic, a pioneer in dynamical systems. We are developing a physical model of dynamics of molecular conformation, which will be compared to theoretical models. As for the future... time will tell.
