Julianne Pollard, UCLA

Julianne Pollard is a 6th year Biomedical Physics graduate student. Her research interests include testing agents that have the potential to protect against low dose radiation damage as well as characterizing medical radiation exposure risk for radiosensitive individuals. Dr. Richard Gatti is her advisor and her main career goals are to work in a radiation oncology department as a Medical Physicist as well as to initiate a Medical Physics program at her alma mater, the University of Miami where she graduated with a BS in Physics and Mathematics. While Julie is not trying to save the world from radiation assault, she enjoys cooking and writing short stories and plays, some of which have been published in UCLA's School of Medicine's The Beat magazine.
