Recommendations for Course Write-Up
- Describe characteristics of the course. Who are the students? What prerequisites are expected? What are the course goals? How will topics, themes and/or methods change from year to year?
- List any prerequisites expected prior to student enrolment.
- Cite examples of topics or questions that students will pursue or have pursued in the past. These examples provide UC evaluators a sense of level of rigor and analysis expected.
- Clearly identify reading and writing expectations / requirements.
- Include a course outline with the topics and sub-topics of course content that all students will be expected to master, if any.
- Include a sample project or two so that UC reviewers understand more concretely the student expectations.
