2009 Analysis in Other Career Technical Industry Sectors
Statewide Analysis
The number of UC approved secondary Other Career Technical Industry Sector courses statewide increased from 341 to 686 courses or a 50.2% increase compared to last year. Of the 1,193 comprehensive high schools in California, 376 or 31.5% have one or more UC approved Other Career Technical Industry Sector courses. Presently, there are 13,925 Other Career Technical Industry Sector courses offered statewide in which 4.9% meet University of California “a-g” admission requirements..
UC A-G Requirements
In analyzing the “a-g” admission requirements, Other Career Technical Industry Sector courses have been approved in the A, D, E, and G admission requirement areas. There were substantial increases from the previous year in courses approved in the E-Language Other Than English (100%) and G-Elective (14.9%) admission areas.
